Confirmation

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
― 2 Corinthians 5:17

Confirmation, or the affirmation of baptism, is an opportunity for a baptized person to make public profession of their faith.  At Holy Trinity, youth are given the opportunity to make public profession of their faith and assume greater responsibility in the life of the Christian community and its mission in the world.  They hear these words as they prepare to affirm their faith:

“In Holy Baptism Jesus Christ received you and made you members of the Church.  In the community of God’s people, you have learned of God’s loving purpose for you and all creation.  You have been called to be witnesses to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
