Reading and Writing
Adult Text Study
A group of eight to twelve individuals gathers in the church library each Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. to discuss the lectionary texts for the upcoming Sunday. Together with the week’s preacher, congregants read the text aloud and discuss what they hear. The assigned texts can be found here, though no preparation is required. Don’t have a Bible? We have extras.
On the second Tuesday of every month, several writers gather in the church library to give one another support in their craft. If you would like to receive more information about this group, please contact Roberta Shaw (firstname.lastname@example.org) or 612-332-9258.
Food and Friendship
Tuesday Community Meal
Staff, congregants, and friends gather on Tuesdays from 12:00-1:00 p.m. in the church library for a brown bag lunch. If you like to eat in the company of others, please plan to join us.
Downtown Lunch Group
Do you live, work, or volunteer in downtown Minneapolis? If so, we’d love to have you join us at our lunch gatherings, which are held quarterly at various downtown eateries. About a dozen of us meet, eat, and get to know one another. If you would like to be notified of upcoming gatherings, please send your email address to the church office (email@example.com).
First Sunday Musings
On the first Sunday of every month, immediately following the 11:00 a.m. service, a small group of members walk a short distance to Le Town Talk Diner, where they reflect on the worship service over a cup of coffee or a bite to eat. If you’re interested in joining this group on occasion, please contact Liz Blood (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Encore! Breakfast Gathering
The Encore! group (formerly 50s & Beyond) gathers for breakfast at 8:00 a.m. on the third Thursday of each month at Turtle Bread (at the corner of 34th Street and 42nd Avenue). If you’d like a reminder about the next gathering, please send your email address and phone number to Dave Moe (email@example.com).
