A Community of Faith in an Urban Area
Member Testimonials History Perspective Service

"Holy Trinity Lutheran Church is a great spiritual home for our family. When we moved to the Twin Cities several years ago, we visited a number of churches before joining this community of faith. We were drawn to Holy Trinity -- the timelessness of the worship service, the warmth of the people, and the central Christian message of peace and social justice. Holy Trinity brings us the words of Jesus in the context of today. It's a joy to be part of this church and its mission."
- Matt Kane, Liz Conway and family
2004 marked Holy Trinity's 100th Anniversary as a congregation.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church was established in 1904. The congregation grew with the community and today remains committed to the community and the life of the city.
The people of this congregation are very hopeful concerning this portion of the city. There is a recognition, however, that maintaining and enhancing the quality of life within the community requires constant work. Therefore, the congregation and its people are substantially involved in efforts designed to contribute to community health.
As the community becomes more diverse, so also is the congregation becoming more diverse. The conviction of the congregation is that diversity of many kinds provides for greater vitality, strength and understanding.
While people may come from many different areas of life, the center of the congregation's life is worship in the name of Jesus the Christ. Participation in Word and Sacrament enables the transcending of whatever separations that mark our lives. Incorporated into the six liturgies rotated for Sunday worship is music from many different traditions.
You are invited to participate in the life of the Holy Trinity congregation. This is a place where it is possible for people to work through the many and varied issues of faith and life. The faith that sustains the congregation's life is that God is present in the whole creation, most clearly revealed in Jesus the Christ and active through the Holy Spirit. Should you desire pastoral care of any kind, you are welcome to contact the church staff at 612-729-8358.

The world's life is constantly in change. There are, however, periodic defining moments. September 11 was one of those moments. The future seems much more uncertain. Our society is threatened with violence from a largely invisible power. The implications of all this cannot be fully envisioned.
How are we, as Christian people of faith, called to live in these troubling times? The realities of 'this new day' must certainly be reflected in the manner in which we articulate our faith. The presence of serious threats to the well-being of this society and world call for a sharpening of our understanding of hope, discipleship, stewardship and world citizenship.
Because the world is ever-changing, religious inquiry must be never-ending. Living into the covenant of our baptism is a life-long endeavor.
Public policy that can contribute to justice and peace deserve support. Policies that foster injustice, war, and the irresponsible use of resources, should be challenged. Knowing the difference is not always easy. The church has the responsibility of conducting the kind of dialogue that will help us know the truth and develop appropriate actions.
